More Longhorn Teases

Next up at the partner confab: The elusive Will Poole, senior VP of the Windows client business group. Poole outlined Microsoft's Windows client priorities for the coming year, and threw in a few Longhorn teases, to boot. There was nothing we haven't heard before. Longhorn will be "undoubtedly the most important thing we can do for the company in the next few years," Poole noted. The three themes of Longhorn innovation will be: 1. Putting the user in control (via security, privacy and easier PC management); 2. bringing your information into life (via the WinFS file system, visualizing information in new ways; and making it easier for apps to manage information); and 3. connecting people to everything (by bringing together voice, video and datacommunications in a "seamless and natural way").
