Windows Server 'R2' Delayed to 2006
|
Yet more Microsoft slip dates: A week after Microsoft acknowledged that it won't ship Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and the new 64-bit Windows Server releases until mid-2005, Microsoft is now admitting that the R2 Windows Server release is likely to slip to early 2006. We asked Microsoft on Friday whether R2 would be delayed by the SP1 slip and officials in Redmond said no. It also sounds like Terminal Server "Bear Paw" functionality isn't going to make it into R2. Until now, that had been Microsoft's game plan. |
