Symantec (which owns Veritas Software) has sued Microsoft for "misappropriation of intellectual property and breach of contract." Symantec is claiming that Microsoft inappropriately developed competing products and bundled into Windows volume-management software technology it licensed from Veritas before Symantec bought the company. We were caught off-guard by this suit, we have to admit: We thought Symantec was more interested in fighting Microsoft in ways other than the legal channels.
