DRM: A Bad Business Move for Microsoft



So claimed Cory Doctorow, outreach coordinator with the Electronic Frontier Foundation. But Doctorow didn't make his remarks in a vacuum; he was invited to deliver them in person to the Microsoft Research staff this week. Doctorow's points were simple and direct: DRM systems don't work; are bad for society; are bad for business; and are bad for artists. In short: "DRM is a bad business-move for Microsoft," Doctorow told the Redmondians. Will Doctorow's opinions make any difference in Microsoft's strategies? We think not….
