Microsoft missed analyst estimates for its third quarter of fiscal 2006. Revenues for the quarter were $10.9 billion and earnings per share were 31 cents for the quarter ended March 31. Xbox sales skyrocketed 80 percent in the quarter. But four of the company's seven business units -- the company's Home and Entertainment division (the home of the Xbox), MSN, Mobile and Embedded and Microsoft Business Solutions were in the red this quarter. Granted, the Home, Mobile and Business Solutions divisions are losing less than they did in previous quarters. But, for now, it's still the same old cash cows making money for Microsoft.
