Windows Vista Delay: The Day After

The day after Microsoft dropped the bombshell that it won't be launching Windows Vista until 2007, rather than in time for the holiday 2006 selling season, the pundits had plenty to say. Views ranged from "customers shouldn't be surprised," to "Vista product support team members should breathe a major sigh of relief." In the end, however, the overriding consensus seems to be Microsoft still has a lot more work to do before Vista's ready for prime time.

Brian Grant :

I , like many people will be buying a computer during the holiday session. There is No way that Vista offers enough bang for the buck for me to turn aroung and replace the OS within first year. Its more likely that MS will wait for the next two years to put any of my money in there coffers. It’s unbelievable that a company as large with the vast sums of cash MS has won’t spend the extra money to hire enough people to do the needed work.Maybe Bill can take a few more trips to Washington and cry about visa’s (that’s much easier than paying a competitive wage)!
