A Reprieve (Sort Of) For Windows 98, ME Users
|
Microsoft late last week decided to add two years of extended (i.e., paid) support for Windows 98, Windows 98SE and Windows Millennium Edition to its list of support offerings. Windows 98 support originally was set to expire this Friday, January 16. Windows ME extended support was supposed to cease in December 2004. Now, Microsoft is offering paid support for all three older Windows releases through June 2006. Don't be fooled by the Microsoft Life Cycle Support Page; until January 15, it will reflect the out-of-date support information, according to the company. |
