Microsoft 'A1' Security Bundle Makes Its Debut
|
Word of a forthcoming anti-virus/anti-spyware bundle from Microsoft, code-named "A1," has been circulating for the past few months. On Friday, Microsoft is slated to take the wraps off this new managed security offering, which Microsoft is christening "Windows OneCare." Microsoft is making OneCare available to internal testers now and expanding the beta to a limited, invite-only set of folks this summer. The Redmondians are hoping to deliver the final A1 subscription service before the end of this year. |

Protection Racket: "A protection racket is an extortion scheme whereby a powerful organization coerces individuals or businesses to pay 'protection money' which allegedly serves to purchase the powerful organization's protection services against various external threats, whereas the actual threat comes from the powerful organization itself. Those who do not buy into the protection plan are targeted by the powerful organization and are harassed to try to force payment of the protection money." - Wikipedia
Why am I not surprised to see this from Microsoft?
