On Monday, Microsoft delivered a Community Technology Preview (CTP) build of its BizTalk Server 2006 product. BizTalk Server 2006 Beta 2 is slated to go to testers before the end of this year. Final availability is slated for "first half" of calendar 2006. Microsoft officials had been citing a first quarter 2006 delivery target for BizTalk 2006 prior to Monday's official launch of BizTalk Server 2006, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. Microsoft unveiled pricing for BizTalk Server 2006 on Monday, too: BizTalk Server 2006 Enterprise Edition will be offered for $29,999; Standard Edition for $8,499; and the Developer Edition for $449 (instead of the expected $749). And BizTalk will ship with 16 free adapters, company officials said, a number of which Microsoft acquired this summer.
