Microsoft Goes to Court in Chicago
|
Eolas, which sued Microsoft for an alleged violation of its browser plug-in patent back in 1999, is finally getting its day in court, the Register reports. Eolas claims Microsoft's ActiveX technology, as well as Redmond's older versions of Windows and Internet Explorer, violated its patent. Although these products are at the end of life, Eolas may attempt to extend its suit to cover current and future versions of Windows. Speaking of court, looks like the "only Communist state in the nation" (a k a Massachusetts) is not going to roll over and forget about the Microsoft antitrust case. State officials are claiming that Microsoft may have retaliated against an unnamed computer maker for promoting Linux. |
