Microsoft Lets Loose a Few More IE 7.0 Tidbits

Internet Explorer 7.0 won't run just on Windows XP Service Pack 2, according to a new posting on Microsoft's "IE Blog." It also will work on follow-ons to SP2, which include Windows XP Professional x64 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, both of which are due out in the next couple of months. Still no word on whether the updated version of Microsoft's browser will run on older versions of Windows, too (specifically Windows 2000). Microsoft better get the lead out, though; IE's market share dipped below 90 percent for the first time, according to February data from WebSideStory.

I am having the same problem as bilal tariq; I have the same computer as he does and my system login and browsing is very slow also. I just paid "nerds on Call" $100 for a tune-up to help speed up my computer, but it runs the same. He did install AVG anti-virus, but the flyer in my newspaper said that it would be installed for free just for having them come to my house for an estimate. I have a Dell computer with 1G hard drive. Recently, when I tried to bring up Internet Explorer 7, a window appeared stating "restore Network Drive" and since then IE7 will not work. I have spent nearly 2 hours surfing the net in Microsoft downloads, etc. and can't find anyplace that will let me download IE7 or IE8 successfully. I guess the network drive isn't included in the download for IE. Do you know any site that will let me download this "Network Drive"? I am now using AT&T Yahoo solely as my browser. Thank you very much for your help in this problem(s). Maggie
