Microsoft to Support Its Own PDF Alternative in Office 12

It shouldn't be too surprising that Microsoft's PDF support in Office 12 is going to face some competition from Microsoft's own alternative to PDF. Just as there will be a "Save as PDF" button in Office 12, so, too, will there be a "Save as XPS" button in the Office 12 product. XPS is the Microsoft electronic paper format formerly code-named "Metro." Microsoft is building an XPS reader into Windows Vista, as the company announced earlier this year. |
