Microsoft's Worst Nightmare Poised to Debut?
|
Google is rumored to be planning to roll out some sort of Google PC on Friday. It's not clear what will power the low-cost machine, but it won't be Windows. We're betting the long-rumored Google OS and/or Gbrowser could be part of the package. Others have tried the low-cost approach to knock the Redmondians off their desktop-OS-monopoly pedestal, but no one's succeeded so far. |

The Google PC will probably be like the AMD PIC "PC" currently available worldwide. The link to the product is too long for the Talkback forum, but the product is fully described on AMD's website at www.amd.com.It's doubtful that any such low end PC will impact Microsoft's current coma in the marketplace, but it will be interesting to see if Google actually does announce a Google PC at CES.
