Here are a few other juicy tidbits from this week's PDC: Microsoft has been very cagey about the specific new features and functionality it is planning to introduce with Windows XP SP2 next year. Now we know that Redmond is going to turn off the hated Windows Messenger feature by default (along with turning on the Internet Connection Firewall) with SP2. Redmond also is preparing to release to its customers its internally developed threat-modeling tool, as well as several other code-checking tools. |
