No WinFS for Longhorn

From Microsoft Watch: Microsoft did, indeed, cut WinFS from Longhorn (both client and server). At least Avalon is still in there. And all the rumors about the back-porting of Avalon to older versions of Windows were true, too. As developer sources told us, Microsoft is promising Beta 1 of the WinFS-free Longhorn by next year, and the final by 2006. So mark your calendars now. |
