Ouch. Two Formerly Profitable MSFT Divisions See Red

Microsoft's latest quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed what the company wouldn't say during its Q2 FY 2004 earnings announcement. Not only was its MSN business unit back in the red, but its Server and Tools division was, as well. That means Windows Client and Information Worker are the only two of Microsoft's seven business units that were profitable in Q2. Microsoft is attributing the MSN and Server/Tools losses to its plan to buy back worthless employee stock options. |
