RIM Gets Cozy With Microsoft
|
Microsoft acknowledged on Tuesday that it is working to move its Office Communicator 2005 ("Istanbul") corporate-instant-messaging-client technology onto Pocket PCs and Smartphones running Windows Mobile 2003 and the forthcoming Windows Mobile 2005, ("Magneto"). But industry watchers were far more excited about the deal announced Tuesday between the Blackberry maker and Microsoft, via which Microsoft will support RIM's non-Windows-based devices with Live Communications Server. RIM inked similar deals with IBM and Novell, by the way. |
