Speaking of Dates: 'R2' Due in October 2005?

Thanks to our chums at BetaNews for this catch. In soliciting beta testers for the next version of Windows Server, code-named "R2," Microsoft let it slip that the target release date for R2 is October 2005. All we could get out of the server team was "latter half of next year" or "late 2005." If Microsoft is saying October now, we'll wager the real ship date will be December, at best. Beta 1 of R2 is expected any day now. |
