At a House subcommittee hearing Wednesday, security experts from Microsoft, Symantec, VeriSign, Cisco, @Stake and others testified on the growing computer virus/worm epidemics. Microsoft senior security strategist Phillip Reitinger's testimony already is online. Not much we haven't heard before. Reitinger did mention Microsoft's Next-Generation Secure Computing Base ("Palladium") as a solution that could help thwart such attacks, but failed to note that even the most rudimentary version of NGSCB won't debut until Longhorn (2005+).
