Want to License a Piece of Microsoft Research?

From Microsoft Watch: Microsoft unveiled on Wednesday a new business unit that it's calling IP Ventures. Its mission: To license to venture capitalists and start-up businesses various pieces of Microsoft-Research-developed technology. There are some interesting items on the list, ranging from mesh-networking software, to "Wallop," Microsoft's prototype social-networking environment. Don't expect any freebies, though; Microsoft is looking for an equity stake and/or royalty payments. |
