What Do Visual Studio Testers Really Want?

There's a vocal group of Visual Studio 2005 beta testers who are advocating for Microsoft to release an unplanned-for third beta release of "Whidbey" before it's set to be unveiled on November 7. And there are other testers advocating for Microsoft to continue to add new features right up until the drop-dead cut-off date, even without a third beta. Microsoft is planning to add one such late-breaking feature, System.Nullable data types, to the August Community Technology Preview (CTP) build, which is due out real soon now.

David Henderson :

Let's get it right Mary Jo-- Nullable types are not a new feature in the August CTP-- they were there in beta 2. The development team is making some changes to the way the function in the upcoming CTP, but Nullable types is not a new feature.

I think the difference is both significant and important.
