Reports on various research projects that are underway at Microsoft's Cambridge, England, facility have been spreading across the Web this week. Microsoft's dabbling with an alternative to the BitTorrent peer-to-peer distribution network that it has code-named "Avalanche." Other projects include a laptop message board, called "HomeNote," and a clock that tracks family members' whereabouts, christened, appropriately, "Whereabouts." |
