What's the Link Between 'Acrylic' and 'Avalon'?



Speaking of Community Technology Previews (CTPs), Microsoft on Monday took the wraps off its second pre-beta CTP build of its professional graphics program, code-named "Acrylic." With Acrylic, graphics pros will be able to design applications that will make use of the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), better known as "Avalon" — on both Windows XP and Windows Vista systems. We're expecting Microsoft will make Acrylic available under the "Expressions Studio" brand name, most likely some time in 2006.
