We were under the mistaken impression that Microsoft's Windows OneCare consumer security service, currently in beta, already included anti-spyware protection. In fact, it doesn't; it includes anti-virus, firewall and PC maintenance services. But OneCare will add anti-spyware protection soon, Microsoft officials said Thursday. So now we think we have it: Windows OneCare is Microsoft's hosted security service for consumers and small businesses. The forthcoming Microsoft Client Protection offering will be its enterprise security bundle.
