A report is circulating that says Microsoft may be poised to attempt to sell Windows and Office in a new way. The Times Online says Redmond is contemplating offering a Windows/Office bundle designed with healthcare customers in mind. Although it's not clear what would make a bundle industry-specific, it's not hard to imagine Microsoft's throwing in a few connectors here and a few blueprints there. Such a move wouldn't be unprecedented. IBM alredy sells more than a dozen industry-specific WebSphere solutions, including one for healthcare. No comment from Microsoft yet on the validity of the report.
