It looks as if there has finally been some promising movement in Microsoft's battle with security vendors over access to the Security Center in Vista. However, while on the surface Microsoft's announcement that it will share security data looks like a win for the security vendors, this is just a first step in the continuing dance. I'll believe that the Microsoft lion hasn't decided to eat the security mice when I see third-party security tools running inside the Vista Security Center.
