Microsoft Security and Identity at the Forefront

Podcast. Where is Microsoft taking Forefront Security and projects "Stirling" and "Geneva"?

JG Chirapurath, director of Microsoft's Identity and Security business group, explains in this first Microsoft Watch podcast after a long hiatus.

Today, Microsoft made several announcements around Forefront Security, including Beta 2 of the code-named Stirling suite. Microsoft also is advancing what it calls "Business Ready Security."

JG impressed me with the discussion about application-layer security, which has been a big concern of mine for a long time. Hackers first attacked the perimeter, which companies fortified. Then they moved to operating systems, which vendors have hardened (but not completely secured). In recent years, more attacks have focused on the application layer, which Microsoft is more seriously trying to protect.

JG also questioned the approach of "siloed solutions," which he makes a reasonable case against. But Microsoft's business is all about integration, so could he really do anything but object to security software silos? He claimed: "Security is hard. It's hard to do. It's hard to manage." JG is right about that.

billybob :

Is there any chance of getting a proper podcast XML feed?

billybob :

PS - You might want to check the ID3 tags of the MP3, you can see and edit them by clicking More Info in iTunes.

Joe :

Thanks billybob. I meant to check and chuck metadata and completely forgot. I used GarageBand on my wife's Mac to trim chatter from the beginning and end of the conversation. I need to install audio editing software on Windows 7 Beta 1.

IF YOU WANT TO EDIT OR CREATE INTERNAL TAGS:

- YOU CAN MANUALLY EDIT THEM WITH WINAMP, OR
- AUTOMATICALLY CREATE THEM WITH THE GRACENOTE.COM SERVICE, PROVIDED INSIDE WINAMP

IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE EXTERNAL TAGS:

YOU CAN AUTOMATICALLY CUSTOMIZE THEM FROM INTERNAL TAGS, USING MP3RENAME.EXE

Guys fuck girls cunts as often as possible. Girls suck guys cocks roughly once a week. Thats the average. So you can see by my charts that guys have to fuck a different girl every day unless they just get one and rape the fuck out of her on a daily basis. And completly screw her cunt out. and fully fuck her like a whore. the slut.

Goblin :

Isnt it funny that recently on Microsoft Watch, when the words "Microsoft" and "security" are mentioned in the same sentence we get these dubious posts appearing.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the creators of those messages were trying to cheapen the thread before it gets started or try to put people off from staying.
-
Like I say, one could be forgiven, Im sure its just another one of those coincidences we see all too often.
