A day before its court showdown with Microsoft which could result in a potential $2 million a day fine for Microsoft for allegedly flouting antitrust settlement concerns, the European Commission is firing another shot across Microsoft's bow. This time, though, the EU is targeting Windows Vista. According to published reports, the Commission has sent Microsoft a note warning the company about potential antitrust concerns that might arise over Microsoft's bundling of Internet Explorer, Internet search and other office applications (we're guessing the commission might mean calendaring, rather than word processing). No response yet from Microsoft on the latest volley.

"is the possibility we won't have all the necessary technical information so that competitors can create a product comparable to Vista"This seems a bit over the top to me. Enabling MS competators is a much different proposition than demanding a well documented, accesable platform.

I think this is a bunch of BS. If this continues, maybe MS shouldn't release software in the EU.
