FolderShare: Yet Another Windows Live Service Is Born

No sooner do we post an update on Windows Live services than does Microsoft introduce yet another member to the family. The latest addition is the Windows Live Foldershare service. The new service is based on the peer-to-peer file-synchronization technology that Microsoft obtained when it bought FolderShare from ByteTaxi last November. The new FolderShare service will extend the file/folder sharing technology that will be built into Vista.

Ben Abney :

I've been using FolderShare with no trouble for several months, syncing among my 5 computers, but my new desktop has that trainwreck from Microsoft called Vista. It is blocking Foldershare on this computer. Any suggestions?

Re: Ben Abney - Solution

There is too much security within the My Documents folders to allow foldershare to function. Youve got to uninstall foldershare, log into foldershare and disconnect your device from the libraries. Restart the computer. Then download and re-install foldershare and set up the directories so they work straight from your c: drive.
