From Microsoft Watch: Sure, quality concerns are part of the reason Microsoft opted to push the Windows Vista launch into January 2007. But there were other factors at work, too. Would you want to vie with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukah for a product launch? Microsoft and its partners didn't, either. And with January sales becoming a "second Christmas" of sorts, Microsoft is counting on the Vista push back as being less hurtful than it otherwise might have been. We'll see if that reasoning holds.
