Thank You and Goodbye

Commentary. The recession has caused many casualties. Good companies are gone, and talented people are jobless. I've written about many of these casualties. There is just one more story to tell. |
Today is my last day as an eWEEK editor. In a few hours I will join the swelling ranks of journalists smitten by the economic crisis and by changes the Internet is forcing on my profession.
There's something fitting about the timing. My ending comes on a day of new beginnings for Microsoft. Windows 7 promises to be a big release for Microsoft. Today's Windows 7 Release Candidate is the start of something really new.
I've been reporting about Microsoft since 1997 and specifically blogging about the company since May 2003. I took over Microsoft Watch in November 2006. It has been a joy to write this blog, and I want to thank regular readers for their commitment. But my warmest regards go to the blog's regular commenters, who have extended the discussion (OK, fierce arguing) beyond the posts. Thank you isn't enough.
Some people may have noticed that my blogging has been lighter during the last two weeks. That's because I shifted some writing to support eWEEK.com. I apologize for being less diligent about responding to Microsoft Watch commenters. I strongly encourage regular readers to go to eWEEK's Windows topic area for most Microsoft news. But there will be plenty elsewhere: full eWEEK topic list.
I encourage PR reps or others to contact Scott Ferguson, eWEEK's East Coast managing editor of news. He will connect you with the right reporters on the news side, based on coverage area. Scott will take care of you.
As for me, I will continue blogging. My voice will continue. I haven't made preparations yet, as I'm still on the eWEEK clockat least until 5 p.m. EDT today. My time belongs to eWEEK until then.
If you would like to contact me personally, I am joewilcox on Twitter and joewilcox at gmail.com, live.com or mac.com. Please choose your favorite e-mail provider. :)
With that, there is nothing left to say but goodbyeand thank you.

Joe, your blog/column (and the comments that followed) were the only reason why I visited eweek. This is one of the few sites that was on my daily must see. I enjoyed reading the many, many fine blogs and the comments that followed including Andre's comments....(we do need a good laugh every now and then...).
Well now there is now one less page to view, but thanks for all the great blogs here. And thanks to Chips, Goblin and others for defending Linux and setting the record straight.
Wishing you all the best...

I don't understand, if there is no Joe Wilcox on Microsoft Watch where will I go to argue against Linux fanatics? I find it therapeutic. :( Joe, you should setup a free Windows Live Space (spaces.live.com) and start blogging their and share your passion for Microsoft products and services there. Its a rich and engaging platform, you can even use the powerful Windows Live Writer to further enhance the look of your post with wrapped images and slide shows.

This was a surprise to me and I'm sorry to see it happen.
I probably disagreed with you as often as I agreed. Still, debate is good, and I subscribed to Microsoft and Apple Watch because I can respect anyone who puts their opinion out there without severely restricting comments. It seems like eWeek's loss to me.
I'm glad to hear that your "voice will continue", and whereever that takes place I'll be sure to subscribe. Good luck to you and your family going forward.

----------------------------------------------------
I might post some on Goblin's site if he does not mind, certainly I will continue to read Goblin's site. Other than that, I have no plans to post like I did here. Eweek without the MS Watch comments will not be Eweek anymore, and as such will not be a forum of ideas either, or generate debate or volume. Perhaps, the many intelligent posters here will also touch base on Goblin's site as well, he run some nice articles and links there.
In the long run, Joe Wilcox's departure and EWeek's scaling back, is a sign of just more than the bad ecomony, its a sign of the impending failure of Microsoft. To which in some small way, spreads freedom. To which in some way, all those who posted here contributed.

When your mother finishes her long night of prostitution and comes home tomorrow morning, be sure to thank her for teaching you to write in a manner that proves you are brainless, spineless, gutless, and worthless.
Now that Joe is gone, I shall leave this rotted den full of you and the other offspring of prostitutes and drug dealers, and let eWeek's disk farms rot under the increasing load of your banal remarks.

Wow, quite the language but I totally agree with you. Between Joe's multiple personalities and the way the comment section has turned into a steaming pile of shit, this blog has become unreadable.
Like many who are sick of the linux fanboys, I'm glad to see this place go.
Posted by TA | May 1, 2009 5:24 PM
Dear Mr Wilcox.
-
First off Im really saddened by the news. Whilst Im called a Linux fanboy (amongst many things) I have always believed that you were both fair and impartial.
-
I will wish you luck, although I dont have to since I know you will be in a new role very shortly.
-
Thank you for allowing all users to post on your site, and I think the fact that the Microsoft faithful are taking delight in your departure shows how you allowed free speak and opinion on this site.
(The MS faithful dont like honest held belief of alternative products to Microsoft)
-
Take care.
-
@Everyone
-
I think now this gives all those who believe in open and free discussion a big task. The task will be to ensure the MS Faithful do not post their FUD without being challenged.
-
I have taken a screenshot of this page and whilst I cannot stop Andre Da Costas posting on other sites, I can certainly remind his readers of the digusting delight (IMO) he appears to take in Joes news.
That IMO is one of the many comments he's made that are documented that will prevent him from ever reaching the IT journalism level of Mr Wilcox.
-
I hope everyone stays in touch.

Hi Chips
-
I hope MS watch does go on, afterall its important (IMO) to keep a watch on Microsoft!
-
I wonder who will take it over (if anyone)
-
Maybe it should be taken over by the commenters who put the most work in on the comments: you, billbob, philosopher, the hand , the left hand of God & Marcos (+ any other regulars who posted the alternative view with honest held belief who Ive forgotten)
-
Its comments like those of "Thank God" above that mean the most to me, we must really have an impact for them to get so angry. I wonder why an alternatives view to Microsoft products is never countered unless its with insult and vulgarity?
-
Ill let the readers who dont post here decide.
In the meantime everyone (including our shillers) is welcome on my blog.
-

Oh and before I forget, chips (and all other regular alternative view posters here) are more than welcome to put your thoughts into articles for my blog (if you wish) Just email, Id love to print your work.

There is a new site called "Other OS". It was started by a Ubuntu member because Ubuntu Forums decided to discontinue that fine forum. You will find current and some former Ubuntu members there.
So "Other OS" lives, and as the name implies...we talk about other operating systems other than just Ubuntu...and that includes Windows and Mac. It is fresh, it is new and it is fairly active..

I have been reading this blog for many years now, and being a Microsoftie - it keeps me focused on my gameplan.
I am am in sales, and reading some (most) of the comments re-inforces to me that you can't win over everyone - but you can always keep your head up when you keep it real.
In context of "keeping it real" - I think Microsoft as a company has taken big strides. The development of Win 7 is a good example, but of late there are many other examples.
I find it ironic that your time with this blog ends now - I think you have recently "figured out" Microsoft, and if I had to bet, you probably even have considered getting some stock lately ;-)
so long - and thanks for the fish

Yeah, Im sure he has?!?!?.

Quote "I think Microsoft as a company has taken big strides. The development of Win 7 is a good example"

What by adopting a similar system to a Linux distro development/deployment? Ill agree there. Is this why we are seeing so many new Microsoft schemes already having more popular alternatives? What other products/services can we expect to see Microsoft "jumping on the bandwagon" with in the spirit of big strides?
-
Id say that since (IMO) Microsoft public image has never been poorer, you are talking rubbish.
-
Fancy talking about the big stride of XP MODE on Windows 7?
-

THE HAND, The far left hand of God, and THE Right HAND of Count Andreas Petofi, were all my handles, after those who impersonated me, I kept changing the name to make it harder..............
About Joe Wilcox, he is by no means the worse blogger out there, and even I wish him luck wherever he goes. But, I say, that Joe, when he writes about MS OFFICE, he never mentions OpenOffice, I find that more than strange to not mention the leading competition. Also, Joe tends to focus on the marketing of Microsoft, to the point that he is not a geek. By geek, I mean that Joe really does not impress us as knowing a lot about the various operating systems. This type of blog really needs someone who knows about all the major operating systems, Windows, Mac and Linux. Joe experience with Linux was about one of the worst ever seen in a blogger. Hopefully, he will try Linux, not one distro but several or more. A blogger should know more about what he writes about than his readers, this Joe clearly failed in. But I hope that Joe will decide to learn about the competition, and really try and master Linux, as knowledge about the competition can only enhance his writing.
Joe knowledge was mostly limited to Mac, and wanting to be a Microsoftie, why, I leave that up to you to decide. My opinion is that is where the advertising bucks mostly came from for his employer, and the freebies from MS as well. Freebies like the usb external hard drive, most likely the zunes and the xbox360's as well, not to mention the free software. All evaluation purposes of course, but still freebies. While not free laptops or of that order, still, they seems to have worked their magic of Joe's writing to some extent. Now Joe is less guilty of this type of blogging than most who blog about Microsoft, but still there is some influence. And this is the lesson that must be learned by the open source rs, that Microsoft controls the bloggers by way of gifts, and bribes. The FREEBIES did taint Joe some, just as they will the next blogger that blogs here in Joe's place. Just as the freebies computers have taunted Andrew Da La La Coaster to the point of writing only about the "richness" of MSFT. That is the "richness" that they seek, or get by way of there jobs. Not to equate Joe Wilcox with Andre, who will never be able to blog with the truly professional Joe Wilcox. Freebies from MS taint the whole blogosphere, not just Joe.
The end result of "freebies from MS" is that the comments were usually much more informative, and thoughtful than the articles that Joe was able to post here.

My god joe , you completely sold your own soul to get free microsoft stuff. Just zeros and ones hanging in the cyber world and you thought that was worth your eternal soul. Geez, why do you rate yourself so cheaply Joe. Usually its the ones that cant learn or find it hard to learn that do that, if you can absorb information easily you can be independant. People who sell out usually dont learn too quickly so value being given the answers much more.
Posted by koppypoppy | May 5, 2009 10:18 AM
Hi Joe,
good luck with whatever you do next. Though I found the general tone of the blog quite subjective. It often seemed to be at odds with the orginal goal of Microsoft Watch which was to informative and to provide insight into workings of Microsoft. that tradition is admirely continued at blogs.zdnet.com/microosft I think the blog often veered too far in the direction of just being an opportunity to knock Microsoft. I found it hard to understand how you could objective write both Apple Watch and Microsoft Watch. It must have been difficult to have tried to balance writing about those two companies. For those miss the platform of just being able to rant irrationally and act live Parlov's dogs when they see the word "Microsoft". Just go to Slashdot.org

So, Windows 7 RC is out to the masses today. What do you all think about the time-bomb built into it? Starting March 1, 2010, it will begin shutting down every 2 hours. That is total and complete bull crap. Microsoft is finding a way to turn what was supposed to be their recompense for the mess that was Vista, and turning it into a bomb. A time-bomb. Since the trial ends in June 2010, if they wanted to get tester's attention to the end of trial, it would be better they had done it the non-genuine Vista way. Take away Aero and the wallpaper. That would still get our attention. Or if they wanted the trial to end in March, then end it in March. This is not going to help them get over the bad image given by Vista. Maybe it IS time go go on to something else...

I have started to post comments, as have others from MS Watch on Goblin's site:
http://openbytes.wordpress.com/category/news/
The comments are hidden, but can be seen by clicking on the comments link right below Goblins Title of his article. Hopefully some of the rest of you will join us there for intelligent conversation.
Maybe MS Watch would do well in approaching Goblin as the new Joe Wilcox? His would be a refreshing new take on MS and the coming trends towards Open Source, which could give new life to this site. Doing the same things as the other "MS" sites is clearly not working anymore for eweek, and Goblin has new ideas that will atrack new readers.

chips. Excellent idea. Make believe it is a "microsoft" site and all you Linux guys can have your field days. We Microsofties can stay away and leave you alone for your bashing bonanza. Seriously, I think it is a great idea.
Posted by Evan | May 8, 2009 3:28 PM
Thanks Chips! Whilst I dont believe for one minute eweek will be interested in getting me for the site, youve started a very flattering deluge of emails in my mailbox. Thanks to everyone, youre all very kind (or completely mad!)
-
Eweek are free to contact me anytime and Id be happy to run MS watch for free, but I think I would be deluding myself if I entertained the notion that I could be asked, as I think my views and direction would be slightly incompatible with those who pay for advertising on the site!
-
I personally would recommend all of the regular FOSS posters here (and indeed some Microsoft ones, ie Jess Meats) to be better to run this site. But then in an ideal world, Id like Joe back.
-
I hope people are keeping up to date with Joe Wilcox's postings on his blog.

Sorry Evan I missed your post.
-
Quote "Make believe it is a "microsoft" site and all you Linux guys can have your field days."
-
Linux users dont make believe anything unlike some of the Microsoft faithful, do I need to remind you of the impersonation or claims such as "you need a compiler to play a dvd in Linux"???
-
Microsoft Watch by its very name suggests that it reports on the latest Microsoft news. People are allowed to then comment. Unless you want it where only Microsoft supporters comment Id suggest Microsoft Watch is the correct name. Id recommend the official Microsoft site if you only want to read praise and glowing reports about them.
-
As far as Im aware nobody was able to edit Joes articles, therefore it was always Joes site.
Its not the Linux communities fault if there are more passionate users with great things to say about Linux than there are happy Microsoft posters. The fact that the regulars here were mostly Linux users says alot and the fact that people like chips billybob and philosopher (and all the others) were able to comment, compare and challenge MS "facts" shows that indeed they have great experience of both Windows and Linux.
-
Microsoft bashing suggests to me that what was being said about Microsoft was untrue.
I would be interested to hear what you claim were "untrue facts" about Microsoft that were posted here and also ask, why didnt you challenge them at the time.
-
I dont believe you will be able to quote any untrue Microsoft facts here for the simple reason there were not any. That is why when a sticky subject came up, the impersonation and vulgarity would begin, IMO to fudge and distort the message being put out.
-
Unfortunately for the users that did that, they did not count on so many users who support Linux because they honestly believe it is the better platform. The MS faithful didnt count on the fact that Linux users were more than happy to share their experiences and the MS faithful certainly didnt count on the fact that we would be so resilient.
-
IMO It is alot easier to stay committed to a cause when you have an honest held belief. Thats why the Linux (and MAC) community stayed, and thats why, IMO the MS faithful rarely kept the same handle for more than a few days and often sought to insult.
-
Im not going to imply that the posts here would make any difference to the Microsoft userbase as a whole, but I think Microsoft Watch perfectly displayed public feeling which is echoed in many forums on the net.
-
Evan, youre of course more than welcome on my site and maybe you could give us your insights on how we have it all wrong?
Regards, Goblin.

@Goblin:
Actually I think you would be perfect for the Job. Eweek could not do better to bring someone onboard that would discuss the open source aspect thats currently impacting Microsoft, and that will accelerate soon. And you do try hard to be fair as well. This is where the market is moving to, open source and GNU/Linux, and is leaving behind sites that depend on MS. MS is starting to die now, and its time to find a new business model in blogging. Joe Wilcox, nice guy that he is, did not understand that. Eweek needs to look beyond the MS advertising bucks, and look at OEM's and other non-traditional sources for its advertising income. Selling laptops and netbooks ad's on this site with Linux installed would be a great place to start. Heck, if you cannot sell the ad's, give them away to start with, hook them at first.
As far as Jess Meats, while she is polite, you have to give that to her, still she works for Microsoft. For her to blog for eweek, then eweek should just drop the watch part off the microsoft-watch.com name. Major major conflict of interest there, although a far better choice than the outright silly/shilly Andre. Still, I for one hope that Jess is not one of the latest job cuts at MS. Times going be tough there, as I would expect further and bigger cuts coming next quarter as well. (hope I am wrong)
There was a lot of talented posters here in the comments sections that would also make great replacement bloggers for Joe Wilcox. Eweek, if you are listening, maybe you should think about this idea, instead of one blogger, maybe a few bloggers to submit articles from some of the better commentators here? It costs you what, and the site goes on.

We heard the tired old yarn from from a certain someone about how Vista was the most uber cool OS on the face of the planet. Nothing could top it. Now, here comes 7, how can one improve upon perfection, in his view, Vista? It's improved with free stuff for the blogger! Peace Bro!

Linux. The Amiga of the computing world.
Posted by Darrick | May 12, 2009 4:32 PM
@Darrick
I have never seen an encryption based appliance that runs on Amiga. I have never seen a phone system based on Amiga. I have never seen an Amiga based firewall. There are systems all around the world that run Linux for a variety of systems.
Please enlighten me more about your flawed and intellectually bankrupt Amiga-Linux analogy.
Linux is not going anywhere despite anyone's best wishes, ahem, 'analysis'.
Posted by AndresFreeLaptops | May 12, 2009 9:20 PM
I believe Darrick is referring to it going nowhere. Amiga isn't even a bad OS. V 4.0 is decent. But like Linux, it doesn't run the most used software, and it's user base never goes up. Never has, never will.

Gotta hand it to you Joe, you really did a disservice to the Rich and Integrated Environment of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. The Cool Microsoft Aero Glass Appearance in the rich interface and vastly superior to linux finish. I always use Windows Vista until Windows Rich 7 comes out. The very richness of rich environments will be the only computer operating system when it comes out just because everyone will jump on the bandwagon of Windows 7. Just read all the press releases, everybody will want Windows 7. Microsoft have made it extra rich and remarkable. So Joe go write about the unrich Linux experience where you always have to use a command line just to log on and then more command lines to do anything such as useing Open Office. Sometimes you even have to compile Open Office first before you use it because it doesnt recognise your hard drives and has no support built in for the keyboard or mouse. Anyway just use the Rich and wonderful experience of microsoft Windows 7. Coming soon to a computer near you.

and why? to prevent MS' shills like you deceive decent people but novice.
---------
That is dubious, it's after to sent horde after horde of Shills, to silence the dissent voices against MS, it did not achieve its objective, then Joe blog is finito (finished)
OK, 'the credit crunch' BUT some days early boycottnovell.com was denouncing that eWEEK was selling itself a MS (for advertaising?) and the whole thing next to windows seven launch. Bizarre thing no?

In regards to hearing it, please come over, Id say its certainly being heard by some. Not that figures matter to me. I post on my site from a love of computing and an honest held belief in Linux. I wonder why you post?

Funny you should mention Microsoft bashing, if you actually checked my site rather than telling lies about it, you would have seen that I challenged a pro Linux user and highlighted an article of his which I believed was misleading...this was done in exactly the same way I would challenge any FUD. Its unfortunately that the MS faithful couldnt comprehend this as it would have given you some pointers on effective posting whilst you had the chance.

Linux is a much loved OS that gives rich rewarding experiences. The outstanding compiz fusion feature gives your computer the rich contrasts and dazzling and breathtaking video expressions unmatched by overpriced and very expensive proprietary software.
Linux has taken the computer world by storm and it is the preferred OS in many parts of the world such as Germany and France.
This rich high quality operating system wins the endurance test with no memory leaks and slowdowns often encountered with certain other bloated, expensive virus plagued software.
The much beloved OS that is Linux is that same OS run by servers by many of your favorite and beloved websites.
Finally a OS that needs no confusing and hard to read "serial numbers" and doesn't need to "activated" in order to use properly. No more searching for magnifying glasses to "read" serial numbers. No more spending hundreds of dollars of performance robbing "antivirus" software over the life of the computer.
Thousands of people all over the world are smartly converting to Linux everyday. The days of expensive, confusing, bloated, virus prone software are over.
Enjoy the rich rewarding experiences from millions around the world are enjoying right now from a much loved OS. Experience the Richness of Freedom and security from a much loved OS.

@Evan:
Do you notice that sites like MS Watch, Cnet example, are also laying off MS Bloggers? This should be a wake up call that MS is on the road to decline. Open Source software is very good, superior to MS expensive "rich" cost software. This message was put across to many readers here at MS Watch, and nothing that the shills could do, could stop that message.
Be glad that many of us are going to Goblin's site, instead of CNET or ZDNET to comment. Although, that does not mean we will not end up there. Goblin's site is ending up with traffic, and will be linked to on other sites as well. So shills will most likely have to deal with it and Boycott Novell as well in the future. Shills, you cannot stop the truth of GNU/Linux and the freedom it represents. There are now too many using it that will spread its use, which will cause M$ to decline even at a faster rate.
As far as all the "command line" lies for Linux by some users, they are know M$ shills, tying to keep their source of income at the public's expense.
Posted by chips b malroy | May 18, 2009 8:40 PM
Evan says:
"Goblin's site is all to yourselves. None of us Microsoft people would waste our time with it."
----------------------------------------------------
It good that you come out and define yourself as a "Microsoft person," or people. The proper word is most likely shill, from what we have read of your comments. I cannot extend a welcome to you for Goblin's site, as its not my site. But most likely Goblin would, he did for Andre, I believe.
----------------------------------------------------
Marco says:
"Well in any case, we will be returning"
Marco is right about that, and we are watching and have not gone away. If fact, we might expand to other pro MS sites and comment there as well. Expect us to link to sites like Goblin's and BN as well. M$ Shills have proved only one thing, that they cannot stop the truth.
Posted by chips b malroy | May 19, 2009 2:43 AM
umm hello? it's the economy stupid. Most Linux bloggers write for free or nearly for free. Linux is still and always will be irrelevant. Of course I am a Microsoft person. By that I mean a user of Windows and Office, both at work and at home. In the real world, Linux has such a minute presence on the desktop, it really does not matter. My mom uses Linux, she just doesn't know it. She has TiVo. But for office and home and gaming, no one, I mean no one I have talked to, at work, parties or any of my friends, use or talk about Linux. We have home PC's and work PC's and they all run Microsoft Windows and Office. Linux on the desktop is relegated to a handfull you may or may not run into in your lifetime. So, as stated before, enjoy your adorable little Goblin-Linux site. I am sure it is a cute little joke.
Posted by evan | May 19, 2009 10:53 AM
Chips, Goblin, Philosopher, and their little bitch chasing Windmills, Marco will not be missed by the real world.
Like blood-sucking ticks, these parasites made a mockery out of themselves and anyone that took or would take this site serious. Joe Foolcock is responsible for his own journalistic death here. I am glad they shut his silly ass down.
Now these four best reasons to never try Linux will have to find a new fucking site to go to and jerk each other off.
Good Riddance!

Posted by Marco | May 20, 2009 2:36 PM
Not even the shills are nervous. No one is nervous of a 0.8% install-base. And the number is far lower when you consider actual users. Linux: nothing to see here.
Posted by Joke | May 20, 2009 3:55 PM
@Del A Costa
Clearly you again don't know what you are talking about. I use vista and now windows 7 but your rant against linux shows your bias and under lying stupidity. You owe a great deal of gratitude to the open source community for pushing Microsoft to better their products because as with all corporations they will only do the minimum required to get by. Were it not for low cost alternatives windows vista, 7, and os-x would be much poorer products. Furthermore open office works flawlessly unless you are just to stupid to install it by clicking "install". Grow up and move on. You give stalkers a bad name.
Posted by BT | May 21, 2009 10:03 PM
I'm nervous because I am a windows porn addict and I'm affraid that my porn collection and malware won't work properly in Linux which is taking over the desktops with 12.47% desktop user share. I don't do Lunix so how can I open and use my perverted porn in it? I mean, everybody knows that pervert porn works only in Windows, because Windows was made for sexual predators and horrible abusive perverts only (like myself). So I must at lie about Lunix all the time to stop people from switching (WOW 12.47% desktop Linux users and counting - something must be done about that or I'll lose access to my Windows porn collection)!

@AndresFreeLaptops :
I just wanted to see how sensitive people were about there chosen OS.
Whew!!! Now it's on!!!
I'll embrace Linux when it takes over. I loved my Amiga. But I later realized it was a product that wouldn't catch on with the masses despite its cool features and development of its day.
I feel that Linux is a great alternative for those who want to:
-stand out
-be different and condescending
-be in control of something because before they controlled nothing
-charge higher consulting fees
-enjoy compiling kernals
-have poor social skills
-who fear being humilated or made to feel inferior for using anything other than maybe the BEOS(Haiku) or OS-X as long as it's not Windows
-who run virtual machines of Windows of which they still legally have to pay a license fee to run on their free OS (I know, more Linux apps are coming fast and furious)
-and will someday when one Linux vendor crushes all others, produce arrogant commercials about how their man-made OS (with all its man-made imperfections...yes, we're all imperfect)
doesn't get worms/viruses/lockups like the other vendor (Microsoft will be out of business by then based on Linux experts a.k.a. fanboys/fanatics, so I don't know who the other vendor will be...I'm kidding...it will be Microsoft).
In closing Linux is the perfect OS for those who want to think different;feel superior and brag about how they got the kernal to run in 512-bytes on a PIC microntroller..impressive...most impressive.
Linux is an open source OS with a growing developer community and very little consumer interest. It has its place in the computing world but it has no central control which I believe has hindered its mass adoption - it being free/low cost doesn't matter.
The mobile market on the other hand is a different story. Moblin for example looks...looks interesting.
Posted by Darrick | May 23, 2009 12:39 AM
The Linux group tried to accuse the Windows group of using distasteful tactics. Now read what they are trying to attribute to Evan. As I have said, Linux is just a joke anyway. That is why none of the major software makers bothers making Linux versions. So as for Linux, move on, there is nothing to see here.
Posted by Joke | May 26, 2009 11:43 AM
So true. Linux is going nowhere. It's market share has held steady for 10 years. I wouldn't expect that to change. And now Microsoft has a stranglehold on netbooks.
